As you read in the title of this video. The Incredibles 2 is coming! Disney Pixar released a teaser trailer this past Saturday on College Gameday of places.
To quote the little neighbor kid on the tricycle "THAT WAS TOTALLY WICKED" I loved seeing that familiar animated style on screen again. We got to see Jack-Jack manifest a cool new ability and create the new logo for The Incredibles 2 movie. I loved the choice of green for his laser vision. Green being my favorite and all. Aw man, hearing Craig T. Nelson's voice again as Mr. Incredible holding up Jack-Jack. Then Jack-Jack sneezes, turns into flame, flashes lighting and burns off some of Bob's hair with that green laser vision. I missed this so much. Its been 14 FREAKING years, man! I'm just glad its back. I can't wait to see how they continue the story.
Overall Thoughts on The Incredibles
Pixar's The Incredibles is one the greatest Super Hero movies ever created. Period. Its the Fantastic Four movie we all deserve, even though there are five members. Shout out to Jack-Jack. I'm pretty positive its my favorite Disney Pixar movie, though Ratatouille and Wreck-It-Ralph are just mere inches behind it. Wreck-it-Ralph 2 on the way also.
One of the things I love about The Incredibles is its relatability. We're shown these characters as a flawed family, like many of our own, instead of the typical dream family. They're dealing with real life everyday problems you and I deal with like work, school, societal issues, attempts at having a social life, relationships, that ever so nagging feeling that you can achieve way more than others think you can...you get the point. #LIFE Heroes for the most part are portrayed as Gods, metaphorically and literally at times. But these heroes are presented in a way that we can ever so clearly see are selves. To me that's very much appreciated within storytelling.
The Incredibles is great at mixing serious moments with laugh out loud ones. The characters are all very realized. There's this great sense of pathos throughout the movie. Its ability to play on well known super hero tropes. The most famous being Edna Mode's "no capes" montage. Which was just pure genius.
I'll end with that. As I said before I can not wait to see how they continue the story. I want to jump right back into that world again. I believe its coming June 16 2018 right after Deadpool 2. The slate of movies coming out next year is dare I say "Incredible".
Let me know down in the comments what's your favorite thing about The Incredibles and also what you're looking forward to seeing in The Incredibles 2.
